I'm lost in study land...

...which would explain the sheer lack of anything of substance on my blog lately. The good news is, I actually have something to show for it. I have now officially passed 2 of my 4 tests. I think it's really going to happen. Sometime in the near future, I will be able to put those illusive three letters after my name. Although that is not my primary reason for doing this, it will feel mighty good to be able to do it. It's kind of crazy how different it feels this time around. If you've known me for very long, you know I started this whole process a few year ago, when I was right out of school, working about 1,00o hours a week (I may exaggerate...just a little), with my main motivation for taking the test being the fact that I was supposed to for my job. It didn't go well. I passed a couple of the tests, failed a few times, and then let the ones that I did pass expire. So here I am. Like I said, this time around is different. I decided that I needed to prove to myself that I could do it, and I am definitely in the process of doing just that. And it feels good.

All that to say, sorry for the lack of substance here on the blog. I'm headed to Pine Cove this weekend with our high school students, and I'm sure I'll at least come back with some pictures to post, and maybe a couple of good stories. Hopefully none about putting a hole in the wall in our cabin...we did that last year! :)

The Breakup...

Dear Dairy -

I hate to say it, but I think it's time we break up. As much as I love you, our relationship is just too painful. I can't help it that I become violently ill every time I spend time with you. You know how people always say, "it's not you, it's me?" Well, this time it's true. It's been a wonderful relationship. There are so many things I will miss from our relationship: the queso, the lattes, the enchiladas, the pizza, and did I mention the queso?! I know it's hard to hear, but in time, I think we will both heal. Maybe, someday, I'll even come back to you.

Love always,
Sarah

Fall is here and so is the Crazy Schedule!

Well, I say Fall is here, but really it's just Fall's schedule that is here, not so much the wonderful crisp, cool air or the leaves changing colors or the ability to wear a long sleeve t-shirt. But oh well, that will all come soon enough. The structure and constant activites of the Fall have begun. I had my first small group with my girls last Wednesday and we had our first leader's meeting and we went to our first Shoreline (Watermark's high school service) on Sunday night. It has been fun. Busy, but fun.

As well as my normal schedule picking up, I've had a fun-filled couple of weekends. Labor Day weekend, I went to Sante Fe, NM with my family. Every year we go on some sort of vacation and this was definitely one of the more relaxing. We ate, slept, layed by the pool, walked around the farmer's market, ate some more, walked around the town, and just hung out. It was really a lot of fun. It was great to be together as a family before Rebekah left for Philadelphia this week. Since we won't get to see her until Christmas, it was fun to get to be there & see her before she took off!

Our Trip to Pasqual's...so yummy!

Deborah & Rebekah walking through town:

This weekend, I had a jam packed Friday night that included dinner, The Dive (a Watermark Single's event), and then a concert. It was fun to hang out with some girls who all serve in Student Ministries and get to know some of our new leaders! Saturday I got my hair cut, and then I headed out to Granbury to see my grandparents. It's always nice to get out of Dallas and sit on their back porch that faces the Brazos river and just relax. My parents were also there, because they had dropped Rebekah off at the airport on Thursday. It was fun to see them two weekends in a row.

Part of the crew from Friday night:

It has been a great couple of weeks, and I am so excited about all the things I have coming up in the Fall. I have a retreat with the High School girls, 5 weddings on the calendar, one more section of the CPA exam, a college roommate get together, and hopefully a half marathon in December. It's going to be busy, but I think it will be great!
